Geometry Nodes Tesla Coil Generator
This tesla coil generator uses Geometry Nodes in Blender 3.1 to construct a tesla coil. Parametric controls include wheel customization, heights and widths of multiple sections, a concentric ring generator, and a coil generator. I made this project to announce the Seattle Blender User Group's return to in-person meetings, and it was a useful learning experience. Some of the individual node groups like the ring, wheel, and coil generators are worth repurposing in many other use cases. Some of the nodes don't work great (like the caps on the box) but I suppose I'll figure that out on my next project. There's also a bug where the extrude node doesn't cap the extrusion, so I'll have to figure out. This was, frankly, a terrible use case for when you should use parametric modeling, because when would you ever need multiple variable tesla coils? But it was fun to make and I learned a bunch!
